My 4K UHD Collection is continuing to grow and with more movies on the horizon adapting to the format — it continues to be a great time for film. The month of December brings more additions to the format and here are the ones I’m looking forward to the most…… get your wallets ready again.

Please note that these are my favorites, there are still many more great releases this month releasing in 4K like Westword: Season Two, Evil Dead 2, Galveston & Schindler’s List. 

Mission: Impossible – Fallout (December 4th)

Ethan Hunt and the IMF team join forces with CIA assassin August Walker to prevent a disaster of epic proportions. Arms dealer John Lark and a group of terrorists known as the Apostles plan to use three plutonium cores for a simultaneous nuclear attack on the Vatican, Jerusalem and Mecca, Saudi Arabia. When the weapons go missing, Ethan and his crew find themselves in a desperate race against time to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands.

The Lion King (December 4th)

This Disney animated feature follows the adventures of the young lion Simba, the heir of his father, Mufasa. Simba’s wicked uncle, Scar, plots to usurp Mufasa’s throne by luring father and son into a stampede of wildebeests. But Simba escapes, and only Mufasa is killed. Simba returns as an adult to take back his homeland from Scar with the help of his friends Timon and Pumbaa.

The Equalizer 2 (December 11th)

Director Antoine Fuqua reunites with Denzel Washington in this sequel to 2014’s The Equalizer. Washington resumes his role as Robert McCall: a retired CIA Black Ops operative who works as a security guard and moonlights as a vigilante. When his long-time friend Melissa Leo is murdered, he embarks on a relentless, globe-trotting quest for vengeance.

Venom (December 18th)

Journalist Eddie Brock is trying to take down Carlton Drake, the notorious and brilliant founder of the Life Foundation. While investigating one of Drake’s experiments, Eddie’s body merges with the alien Venom — leaving him with superhuman strength and power. Twisted, dark and fueled by rage, Venom tries to control the new and dangerous abilities that Eddie finds so intoxicating.

The House with a Clock in It’s Walls (December 18th)

Lewis Barnavelt, after losing his parents, is sent to Michigan to live with his uncle Jonathan. He discovers his uncle is a warlock, and enters a world of magic and sorcery. But this power is not limited to good people: Lewis learns of Isaac Izard, an evil wizard who constructed a magical clock with black magic, as long as it exists it will keep ticking, counting down to doomsday. He died before he could finish the clock, but he hid the clock in his house, where Uncle Jonathan now lives. Now Lewis and Jonathan must find the clock before it finishes its countdown and ends the world.
