My 4K UHD Collection is continuing to grow and with more movies on the horizon adapting to the format — it continues to be an amazing time for film. The month of July (2019) is another solid month of releases in the UHD format and here are the ones I’m looking forward to the most.
Please note that these are my personal favorites, there are still other 4K releases coming out in the month of July like the new remastered editions of Waterworld and Glory. There’s something to pick up every single week!
Alita: Battle Angel is my most anticipated release this year so far, can’t wait to get my hands on it. One of the most exciting movies I’ve seen in a while.
Pet Sematary (July 9, 2019)
Dr. Louis Creed and his wife, Rachel, relocate from Boston to rural Maine with their two young children. The couple soon discover a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near their new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his neighbour Jud Crandall, setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unspeakable evil with horrific consequences.
Shazam! (July 16, 2019)
We all have a superhero inside of us — it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In 14-year-old Billy Batson’s case, all he needs to do is shout out one word to transform into the adult superhero Shazam. Still a kid at heart, Shazam revels in the new version of himself by doing what any other teen would do — have fun while testing out his newfound powers. But he’ll need to master them quickly before the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana can get his hands on Shazam’s magical abilities.
Moon (July 16, 2019)
Astronaut Sam Bell’s three-year shift at a lunar mine is finally coming to an end, and he’s looking forward to his reunion with his wife and young daughter. Suddenly, Sam’s health takes a drastic turn for the worse. He suffers painful headaches and hallucinations, and almost has a fatal accident. He meets what appears to be a younger version of himself, possibly a clone. With time running out, Sam must solve the mystery before the company crew arrives.
Alita: Battle Angel (July 23, 2019)
Set several centuries in the future, the abandoned Alita is found in the scrapyard of Iron City by Ido, a compassionate cyber-doctor who takes the unconscious cyborg Alita to his clinic. When Alita awakens, she has no memory of who she is, nor does she have any recognition of the world she finds herself in. As Alita learns to navigate her new life and the treacherous streets of Iron City, Ido tries to shield her from her mysterious past.
