My 4K UHD Collection is getting bigger as time goes by because more films are adapting to the format. I usually say “it continues to be an amazing time for film,” but as time carries on things are beginning to change for the worst, especially the movie industry. As we speak, theaters are shut down and the majority of the United States (including myself) are locked inside for safety.
The sad thing is, at least when it comes to physical media, is that the virus has finally caught up to home video releases. For the month of July (excluding re-releases and remasters) we have TWO new releases in UHD, yes two… How crazy is that? I never thought I would see something like this.
Outside of that, here’s what you can set your eyes on this month. You will get a decently sized day on July 21st with the 4K release of Spartacus, the Criterion release of Marriage Story and the next release in the Paramount Presents line Airplane! and Ghost. Not too bad.
I hope everyone is staying safe — let’s always look forward to the movies!
Trolls: World Tour (July 7, 2020)
Poppy and Branch discover that there are six different troll tribes scattered over six different lands. Each tribe is also devoted to six different kinds of music — funk, country, techno, classical, pop and rock. When rockers Queen Barb and King Thrash set out to destroy the other music, Poppy and Branch embark on a daring mission to unite the trolls and save the diverse melodies from becoming extinct.
Scoob! (July 21, 2020)
With hundreds of cases solved and adventures shared, Scooby and the gang face their biggest, most challenging mystery ever — a plot to unleash the ghost dog Cerberus upon the world. As they race to stop this global dog-pocalypse, the gang discovers that Scooby has a secret legacy and an epic destiny greater than anyone could have imagined.
