My 4K UHD Collection is getting bigger as time goes by because more films are adapting to the format. I usually say “it continues to be an amazing time for film,” but as time carries on things are beginning to change for the worst, especially the movie industry. As we speak, theaters are shut down and the majority of the United States (including myself) are locked inside for safety.
The sad thing is, at least when it comes to physical media, is that the virus has finally caught up to home video releases. For the month of August (excluding re-releases and remasters) we have ZERO new releases in UHD, yes zero… How crazy is that? I never thought I would see something like this.
Outside of that, here’s what you can set your eyes on this month when it comes to those re-releases and remasters… Inception & The Town get their 4K steelbooks on August 4th, Pitch Black & Flash Gordon land on 4K August 18th + The House by the Cemetery & The New York Ripper drop on 4K August 25th.
Here’s a deeper look at August 2020
I hope everyone is staying safe — let’s look forward to the movies! Let me know what you are doing in quarantine in the comments!
