December’s Most Anticipated 4K Releases

My 4K UHD Collection is getting bigger as time goes by because more films are adapting to the format. I usually say “it continues to be an amazing time for film,” but as time carries on things are beginning to change for the worst, especially the movie industry. As we speak, theaters are shut down and the majority of the United States (including myself) are locked inside for safety.

Good news? It looks like we are setup to close out the year strong with a bunch of anticipated releases, including one that’s on the bucket-list.

Outside of that, here’s what you can set your eyes on this month when it comes to those re-releases and remasters… On top of what’s listed below you can also get Coming to America, Beverly Hills Cop & Chernobyl on 4K December 1st, Collateral on 4K December 8th + two more Paramount Presents releases coming December 1st in Trading Places & The Golden Child. Not bad… not bad.

Lord of the Rings Trilogy (December 1st, 2020)

The future of civilization rests in the fate of the One Ring, which has been lost for centuries. Powerful forces are unrelenting in their search for it. But fate has placed it in the hands of a young Hobbit named Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood), who inherits the Ring and steps into legend. A daunting task lies ahead for Frodo when he becomes the Ringbearer – to destroy the One Ring in the fires of Mount Doom where it was forged.

The Hobbit Trilogy (December 1st, 2020)

Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) lives a simple life with his fellow hobbits in the shire, until the wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) arrives and convinces him to join a group of dwarves on a quest to reclaim the kingdom of Erebor. The journey takes Bilbo on a path through treacherous lands swarming with orcs, goblins and other dangers, not the least of which is an encounter with Gollum (Andy Serkis) and a simple gold ring that is tied to the fate of Middle Earth in ways Bilbo cannot even fathom.

Blade (December 1st, 2020)

A half-mortal, half-immortal is out to avenge his mother’s death and rid the world of vampires. The modern-day technologically advanced vampires he is going after are in search of his special blood type needed to summon an evil god who plays a key role in their plan to execute the human race.

TENET (December 15th, 2020)

John David Washington is the new Protagonist in Christopher Nolan’s original sci-fi action spectacle “Tenet.” Armed with only one word—Tenet—and fighting for the survival of the entire world, the Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time. Not time travel. Inversion.

I hope everyone is staying safe — let’s look forward to the movies! Let me know what you are doing in quarantine in the comments!
