October’s Most Anticipated 4K Releases

My 4K UHD Collection is continuing to grow and with more movies on the horizon adapting to the format — it continues to be an amazing time for film. We are already rolling up on October (2019) and don’t worry, there’s another batch of new releases coming to the UHD format — here are the ones I’m looking forward to the most.

Please note that these are my personal favorites… but did you notice that this month is stacked with re-releases? Not only do we get what’s listed below, but also Frozen, Zombieland, Hellboy, Charlie’s Angels and American Gangster. UHD-wise there are three new releases in Spider-Man: Far From Home, Toy Story 4 & The Lion King.

Outside of that, there are also three releases that come in the Blu-ray format just in-time for the horror Halloween season. Those include; Midsommar (October 8th,)  Annabelle Comes Home (October 8th,) and the acclaimed The Haunting of Hill House series (October 15th.) I was really hoping Midsommar would drop in 4K, hopefully it’s in the works and will come in the future.

Spider-Man: Far From Home (October 1, 2019)

Peter Parker’s relaxing European vacation takes an unexpected turn when Nick Fury shows up in his hotel room to recruit him for a mission. Parker soon finds himself donning the Spider-Man suit to help Fury and fellow superhero Mysterio stop the evil entities from wreaking havoc across the continent.

The Shining (October 1, 2019)

He settles in along with his wife, Wendy, and his son, Danny, who is plagued by psychic premonitions. As Jack’s writing goes nowhere and Danny’s visions become more disturbing, Jack discovers the hotel’s dark secrets and begins to unravel into a homicidal maniac hell-bent on terrorizing his family.

Gremlins (October 1, 2019)

A gadget salesman is looking for a special gift for his son and finds one at a store in Chinatown. The shopkeeper is reluctant to sell him the ‘mogwai’ but sells it to him with the warning to never expose him to bright light, water, or to feed him after midnight. All of this happens and the result is a gang of gremlins that decide to tear up the town on Christmas Eve.

Pan’s Labyrinth (October 1, 2019)

It’s 1944 and the Allies have invaded Nazi-held Europe. In Spain, a troop of soldiers are sent to a remote forest to flush out the rebels. Ofelia witnesses her stepfather’s sadistic brutality and is drawn into Pan’s Labyrinth, a magical world of mythical beings.

Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy & Ant-Man (October 1, 2019)

Yea, more Marvel, Marvel and Marvel. It’s self explanatory at this point! This final string of releases will mean that every single movie in the MCU will have a 4K UHD disc. Furthermore, this confirms that they will have all my money and I won’t have to dip in for more.

Toy Story 4 (October 8, 2019)

Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the gang embark on a road trip with Bonnie and a new toy named Forky. The adventurous journey turns into an unexpected reunion as Woody’s slight detour leads him to his long-lost friend Bo Peep. As Woody and Bo discuss the old days, they soon start to realize that they’re worlds apart when it comes to what they want from life as a toy.

Scarface (October 15, 2019)

After getting a green card in exchange for assassinating a Cuban government official, Tony Montana stakes a claim on the drug trade in Miami. Viciously murdering anyone who stands in his way, Tony eventually becomes the biggest drug lord in the state, controlling nearly all the cocaine that comes through Miami. The Lion King (October 22, 2019)

Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny on the plains of Africa. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. The Wizard of Oz (October 29, 2019)

When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz.
